Brooke Schmidt, RN, BSN
Brooke Schmidt is a registered nurse and freelance health writer with more than 14 years of nursing experience specializing in adult and geriatric community health, palliative care, and end-of-life care. She combines her clinical knowledge and firsthand experience caring for patients and families with a passion for health education and accessible medical writing.
Her work covers a range of topics, including aging, senior care, caregiving, and chronic conditions. Brooke graduated from The University of Portland in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree. She spends her free time with her husband and two kids exploring the Pacific Northwest.
I wish I had an exciting story to share about why I chose to become a nurse. But I don’t. In some ways, I pulled nursing out of a hat and decided to see if it would stick (it did!). I graduated from the University of Portland, in Portland, OR, and now have over 10 years of experience. My specialty areas of practice have included Pediatrics, Adult Health, Geriatrics, Case Management, Community Health, Wound Care, Palliative, and End-of-life Care.
I am currently working as a freelance nurse writer and enjoy collaborating with clients to provide them with high-quality content. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring the Pacific Northwest.
